As a board certified family physician and certified health and life coach, I’m confident that I can help you lose weight, increase your energy, address your stress and love the body you’re in.  

This 28 day program is designed to not only address healthy food choices,  but also your relationship with food (using mindfulness as your most powerful secret weapon!)  

My story goes back several years ago to a time when I was working full time as a primary care physician, parenting 4 children, and finding it really hard to find balance. I was chronically over-tired, giving my all, feeling spread thin and generally not taking good care of myself. Despite being a doctor and dispensing advice all day, I wasn’t applying those same fundamental principles to my own life — like getting enough sleep, reducing stress and steering clear of sugar and caffeine.

I would find myself bringing the stress from the day home with me and have all sorts of sugar cravings in response to the exhaustion.  I would then stay up late to catch up on work, which only led to more exhaustion, and around and around the hamster wheel would go!

 

Until I finally stepped out of that vicious cycle and found freedom from sugar cravings, the exhaustion, the lack of sleep and self care. 

In 2008, I began health coaching and discovered that often times adhering to the SIMPLEST BUILDING BLOCKS CAN LEAD TO THE BIGGEST TRANSFORMATION

 

And that’s why I created my signature program, the 28 day Healthy Start program, so that you too, can experience the huge shifts I experienced and begin on your own journey to health and wellness.  

Most people make the mistake of going on a restrictive diet and exercise regimen for a specified time frame in order to look “good” for some event (a wedding, a reunion, a vacation).  They rely on sheer will power and determination but then eventually fall back to their old habits and gain the weight back.  What they’re missing is that:

We need to shift our patterns of thinking and our mindset around food in order to get long lasting results.

If you don’t change your inner game, you can’t address the outer game. 

In other words, anyone can go on a diet and lose weight, but unless we unravel some of the habits that got us here in the first place, then those changes won’t stick.

I have always been a “middle-of-the-road” kind of gal and I don’t believe in many of the extreme diets out there.  This is not a paleo, keto, or intermittent fasting diet.  I believe in a meal plan that includes:

healthy whole grains,

lean sources of protein (like fish, poultry and beans),

lots of fruits and veggies,

healthy fats (like olive oil, nuts and avocados)

limited dairy such as yogurt.

 

 

What’s most important is that this plan can fit into ALL the seasons of your life and be SUSTAINABLE. 

By preventing deprivation, we allow for sustainability.
